Efficient Floor Construction & Insulation for renovation

Discover the ideal floor structure for your office renovation. High-quality insulation and tile systems for limited depths. Contact us for tailor-made advice.

The customer is looking for information about the floor structure for a renovation project of an office space of 490m2. They have a limited floor construction depth of about 10cm and are interested in using an insulation and tile system. They ask for a phone call to discuss which system would be best for their project.

Thank you for your interest in our floor construction system. Given your limited floor construction depth of 10 cm, our Tileable insulation screed system could be a good option. This system consists of an adhesion primer for concrete, a grid that is placed at 9 cm, an infill with Tileable insulation screed, a primer for non-absorbent substrates, a leveling layer of 3 mm, and a finish with primer and tile adhesive. The insulation value of this system is quite high, with a thermal conductivity coefficient of 0.065 W/m.K and an R-value per cm of height of 0.15. The system is also fire resistant (A1-MO) and offers an acoustic reduction of approximately 10db.

What is the step-by-step plan for floor construction with the Staenis system?

The step-by-step plan for the floor construction with the Staenis system is as follows:

  1. Applying an adhesion primer to the concrete.
  2. Placing a grid at 9 cm, at the deepest point (lower if the surface is uneven). With a grid height of 9 cm, there is 4.5 cm of height left for the utilities.
  3. Fill in with tileable insulation screed (from bags to maintain performance).
  4. Application of a primer for non-absorbent substrates.
  5. Apply a leveling layer of 3 mm at the same height as the grille (does not exceed 9 cm in height of the grille).
  6. Applying a primer and tile adhesive.
  7. Installation of natural stone.

What are the insulation values of the Staenis floor system?

The insulation values of the Staenis floor system are as follows:

  • The thermal conductivity coefficient is 0.065 W/m.K.
  • The R-value per cm of height is 0.15.
  • The fire resistance is A1-MO.

What is the acoustic value of the Staenis floor system?

The Staenis floor system ensures a reduction of approximately 10 decibels in noise level.
