What is the advice for laying a terrace with regard to the concrete rubble layer and drainage mortar, bearing in mind that it will not be used by cars, but may occasionally have a trailer for gardening?

It is recommended to pour a concrete rubble layer of 10 to 20 cm under the drainage mortar and to vibrate it. This will ensure that the earth is properly pressed and prevents collapses in the future. Moreover, it makes your terrace more bearable for any car traffic. If no cars will be driving on the terrace, but the occasional trailer for garden maintenance, you can consider vibrating the first layer of drainage mortar and then pouring a slightly thicker filling layer of drainage mortar.
