Information

Non-load-bearing fillers (such as glass wool) or resilient fillers (such as cork granules) are ideal for additional insulation of a floor structure. In this situation, the Staenis grid serves as a wooden grid. The floor structure is removable and can be reused without waste. If extra bearing capacity and firmness is desired, it is best to use levelling granules (cellular concrete) or insulating screed as a filler.

1. Place the Staenis grid and adjust it to the correct height with a screwdriver. 2. Reinforce the Staenis slats by placing an extra Staenis leg (8 extra legs per m²) in the middle of each slat. Glue all legs to the surface with PU foam, so that the height adjustment remains correct after adjustment. Reinforce the top of the Staeni legs with a lime mortar or cement mortar. This way the floor will feel high-quality and sturdy. To avoid having to install and adjust the 8 extra legs per m², you can use the green fiber-reinforced grid. 3. For example, pour the cork granules into the cages of the Staenis grid and level them out. 4. Place a (flat) 12 mm thick OSB or Durelis plate on top. Stand on the OSB plate while screwing it on (1 screw per 60 length, in rows of 50 cm). Place a 2nd wooden plate on this, staggered. Screw the 2nd OSB or Durelis plate (18 mm) into the first plate. For extra strength, use 2 plates of 18 mm. 5. Tip: Depending on the type of floor finish, you choose the thickness of the OSB. A thin floor finish needs a thicker OSB, a thick floor finish can be combined with the minimum OSB thickness for this floor construction. 6. Tip: To prevent loose grains from rolling away or flowing through holes and cracks, it is advisable to carefully close all openings in the wooden surface in advance with PU foam or mortar.
