Information

Non-load-bearing fillers such as glass wool, cork granules, or EPS beads are ideal for adding insulation to a floor structure. In this case, the Staenis grid serves as a wooden grid. The floor structure is demountable and can be reused without waste. If additional load-bearing capacity and strength are required, use insulating screed as a wet filler.

1. Place the fiber-reinforced green drying floor grid and adjust it to the correct height with a screwdriver. 2. Glue all legs to the substrate with PU foam, so that the adjusted height is maintained during installation. With the old black and yellow Staenis grid, 8 extra legs had to be placed per square meter and reinforced with lime or cement mortar; thanks to the fiber-reinforced green version, this is no longer necessary. 3. Pour the loose cork granules or EPS beads into the spaces of the Staenis grid and level them out. 4. Place a flat OSB or Durelis panel on top. Option 1 – Single panel: Use one 22 mm panel and screw a wooden reinforcement strip (± 9 cm wide × +2 cm thick × ± 40 cm long) under each joint in each 50 × 50 cm grid space; if desired, glue the joints with D4 wood glue for extra rigidity. Option 2 – Double panel: First, place a 12 mm panel. Stand on the panel while screwing, inserting 2 screws per 60 cm length, per 50 cm row. Then, stagger a second panel (at least 18 mm) on top of it, and screw the top one into the bottom one; for maximum rigidity, you can also use two 18 mm panels. 5. Choose between option 1 or 2 and the board thickness based on the floor finish. Thin, flexible finishes (cork, carpet and vinyl) require double OSB or Durelis plating, while for a thick or rigid floating floor (multi-layer parquet, laminate) option 1 with one board plus reinforcement is sufficient. 6. Tip: To prevent loose granules from rolling away or flowing through holes and cracks, it is advisable to carefully seal all openings in the concrete substrate beforehand with PU foam or mortar. 7. Permitted floor coverings: floating floor coverings such as multilayer parquet, laminate, cork, carpet, and vinyl. Always follow the installation instructions of both the floor covering manufacturer and the store where the purchase was made.
