Where can I get screed?

For this you have 4 options:

  1. You can buy bags of sand and cement yourself and mix them with water in a concrete mixer.
    • Advantage: You can choose how much screed you mix yourself, and it is also the cheapest solution.
    • Disadvantage: This is intensive work, so it is recommended to apply this only to smaller surfaces.
  2. You buy ready-made screed bags at a building supply store or DIY store and mix them with water in a concrete mixer.
    • Advantage: You can choose how much screed to make yourself and you immediately have the correct mixing ratio.
    • Disadvantage: This is an expensive solution for large areas, so it is recommended to apply this only to smaller surfaces.
  3. You have screed delivered or pick up screed yourself from a concrete plant.
    • Advantage: you can collect larger quantities and immediately have the correct mixing ratio.
    • Disadvantage: you will most likely have surplus and once the screed is delivered, it must be processed immediately, which can create time pressure.
  4. You have a screed silo delivered to your site.
    • Advantage: It is much more pleasant and 'lighter' to work than the previous options. With a screed silo, you can decide yourself when to carry out the work and you have no surplus or time pressure because 'fresh' screed is made per wheelbarrow each time.
    • Disadvantage: For the delivery of a screed silo, your driveway must be large enough to place it. The truck that delivers the silo is 12 meters long, weighs 40 tons, and places the silo (3 x 3 meter surface area) just behind the truck on the ground.
